West Laurel Hill Cemetery's Beer Barons Tour

and Homebrew Competition Returns

Nominated for a 2010 Philly Beer Scene award, “Beer Barons to Homebrewers: Tour the Past. Taste the Present.” is back! This year's event, co-sponsored by the Cemetery and Flying Fish Brewing Co., to be held Saturday, May 19, will include a tour of burial sites of brewers interred at Laurel Hill Cemetery and will continue with a tour, tasting and reception at West Laurel Hill Cemetery. Both tours will be led by Pennsylvania brewery historian Rich Wagner. Tickets are $25 per person. Reservations are required and space is limited. Registration begins at 1 p.m. At Laurel Hill Cemetery, 3822 Ridge Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19132.

Are you a homebrewer? See how your brew measures up at this AHA/BJCP sanctioned event. Both bottled entries and sixtel entries are welcome. Brewers submitting a sixtel receive free entry for themselves and two guests. Bottled entries are $7 per entry and must be received by Friday, May 11. Certified BJCP judges are also welcome to apply.

A portion of the proceeds from the event benefits the mssion work of St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in Roxborough.
