Straub Brewing History
is Brought to Life!
I've seen
many books from this publisher recently. They specialize in local history and
I've purchased two of their books that cover my home town. I've used others to
get information on Philadelphia neighborhoods that were home to breweries and
never cease to be amazed at how they bring the past to life with great archival
photographs. Straub Brewery is no
exception. Starting with the cover which features a sepia-toned image of wooden
cases of empties next to the bottle washer, the book contains interior and
exterior views of the brewery, labels, Straub family members and even recipes
with Straub Beer!
Straub beer
has become more than just a "cult classic" and beer aficionados,
breweriana collectors and brewery historians will relish this feast of imagery
that chronicles the history of this Pennsylvania regional brewery, the culture
which surrounds it, and home to the "eternal tap."
