Special Guests: Michael Marquardt will speak briefly on the Wine of Jefferson at Monticello

And Richard Wagner of Philadelphia, a noted expert on Colonial Brewing, will speak in period costume on the ales of Jefferson at Monticello

From 6-7 p.m. Cocktail Reception: A ‘Presidential Reception’ featuring several wines/ varietals from Jefferson Vineyards, Monticello, VA., and Brandywine Brewing Company ales paired with delicious hors d’ oeuvre:

Hors d’ oeuvre menu during the Presidential Reception: Peppered Smoked Salmon on Potato Pancakes, Basil Shrimp wrapped in Applewood Smoked Bacon, Mustard Eggs, Cornmeal Fried Oysters with Pikapeppa Remoulade, Tavern Lobster Pie with Maine Lobster, Gulf Shrimp, mushrooms and shallots baked in a puff pastry crust

Salad Course: Romaine and Roquefort Salad—Crisp Romaine Topped with Roquefort Cheese, Bacon Bits and a Burgundy Mustard Vinaigrette

Beer Pairing: Thomas Jefferson Tavern Ale, Yards Brewing Co., Philadelphia, PA (8% ABV, very strong golden ale brewed with honey)

Main Course: Pecan Crusted, Honey Glazed Roasted Duckling served over Herbed Barley and topped with a Colonial Peach Chutney

Beer Pairing: Brandywine Brewing Co. dark Weizenbock (brewed in accordance with Thomas Jefferson’s personal recipe)

Dessert: Colonial Dessert Sampler: Chocolate Pecan Pie, Chocolate Mousse Cake, & Vanilla Ice Cream
